This 1930s cottage exudes charm with intricate brick and stucco designs, flowering gardens, and a sweeping faux-thatch roof. However, at the end of 2023, the home was hit by a terrible hailstorm damaging almost the entire roof. The owner was very concerned with making sure the style of her home’s roof essentially stayed the same to maintain the overall look of the home. Prior to the install, the team spent time reviewing pictures of the original and previous installs to ensure every detail on the new roof was just right. All the eave, gable and transition shingles were steam-bent to match the old roof’s rolled edges. The wave-coursing averaged 2 1⁄2” exposure, which means 100% more material than a typical install to create the finished product!
This project was such a delight, and really allowed the Country Cottage crew to showcase their amazing craftsmanship!
