This year marks an incredible milestone for Custom Shingles as we proudly celebrate 20 years in business! In the beginning, our main focus was our line of Country Cottage Roofing Systems, but have since grown to include an entire custom line of specialty shingles and shakes.
Since our founding, our mission has remained the same: to deliver wood roofing products that last. Over the past 20 years, we’ve earned the trust of countless clients by standing behind our products by using only premium materials and staying current with the latest options, from natural shingles to synthetic. Our shingles can be found all across the US, and even as far away as Thailand and Kenya!
Reflecting over the past twenty years, we have had the honor of being involved in some pretty incredible projects! Below are a few of our highlights.
Steam-Bent Chapel Roof
This historic 1933 Chapel was restored in 2014. To match the original, we steam-bent nearly every part of the roof, including the eaves, gables, ridges, hips and valleys.
Clubhouse Roofing & Siding
Another project we were honored to have a part in was the Kiawah Island Golf Clubhouse. Western Red Cedar was installed on roof, and stained Alaskan Yellow Cedar shingles were used for the siding portion. The siding included a few different patterns and cuts of shingles, including our sawtooth, diamond and wavy Craft-Cutt shingles.
Blue Roof
This cottage roof is one of our most unique looking roofs! The bright blue color was chosen to match the original roof color from when the home was first built in the 1920s. A few years back this roof went viral over its “Smurf” like color. This was such a fun project to be part of!
teak in thailand
Located in Thailand, the Natai Beach Resort choose our dragontooth Teak Shingles for the roofing & siding on their villas. Installed in a graduated pattern, the shingles had to be adjusted for size, and were steam-bent onsite to conform with the roof’s shape with our mobile steam-bending unit. This project required a lot of coordination, and we were so pleased with how it turned out.
